Arrest – Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 1st, and Resisting Arrest

The Waterloo Police Department reports, on July 19th, 2022 at about 3:15pm, officer arrested Steven E. Wilcox, age 23, of Newark, NY.  The charges stem from an investigation into a theft from a local business in which Wilcox was identified as a suspect, having fled on a dirt bike.  After a brief search Wilcox was located by officers.  When officers attempted to take Wilcox into custody it is alleged that Wilcox was uncooperative and resisted officers.  Further investigation found Wilcox to be intoxicated while operating a dirt bike.  Wilcox was then charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, Operating Without Insurance, Unlicensed Operator, Unregistered Motorcycle and Resisting Arrest.  Wilcox was processed and released with Uniform Traffic Tickets as well as a Uniform Appearance Ticket.  He is to appear in the Village of Waterloo Court on August 17th, at 5:00pm.  Officers were assisted on scene by the Seneca Falls Police Department, Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police.
