COVID-19 Update

**PRESS RELEASE**

In response to the COVID-19 National Crisis, The Waterloo Police Department will temporarily change its operating procedures to maintain the safety of our officers and the community that we serve.

Effective March 18th the clerical staff hours will be changed to 8:30AM-11AM, Monday through Friday.  After hours, our citizens should use the call box directly next to our front door and an officer will respond to assist you. 

For any non-emergency calls to service, depending on the nature of the call, Officers will handle these complaints by telephone to limit contact.  Additionally, when an officer does respond to your residence or business, the officer may ask you to speak outside to maintain the recommended 6 feet of social distancing.

Additionally, if you are experiencing a low grade fever, dry cough and difficulty breathing you should contact your primary care physician by phone.  If your symptoms are occurring outside of normal business hours, contact either an Urgent Care facility or Emergency Department by phone.  Do not go directly to these facilities, call and wait for further instructions. 

We ask the public to remain calm during this unprecedented time.  We need to all work together to ensure the health and safety of our community.
