Arrest – Possession of a stolen vehicle and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation

The Waterloo Police Department reports, on January 24th, 2022 at about 4:46am officers arrested Timothy R. Brown, age 36, of Waterloo, NY.  Brown was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd Degree, Failure to Stop and Obey a Police Officer, Unsafe Tires and Inadequate Lights. The charges stem from a traffic stop on State Route 5 where it is alleged that Brown was operating with a head light out, and when officers attempted to conduct the traffic stop, Brown fled the scene in the vehicle. Brown drove a short distance on State Route 5 then into the median at the intersection with State Route 414 where he was stopped and taken into custody. It was discovered that the 2010 Kia that Brown was driving had been reported stolen out of Irondequoit, NY. Brown was also determined to be operating the vehicle with a suspended license.  Brown was processed and released on a Uniform Appearance Ticket to appear in the Village of Waterloo Court on February 16th, 2022 at 5:00pm.
