The Waterloo Police Department reports that on May 11th, 2026, at approximately 9:05 pm, John F. Meyer, age 40, of Waterloo, NY, was arrested for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree, Criminal Mischief in the 3rd degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the 2nd degree, and Resisting Arrest. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred on May 11th, where it is alleged that Meyer stole a purse belonging to the victim earlier in the day. Later in the evening, the victim went to retrieve her property at Meyer’s residence, and on arrival, it is alleged that Meyer got into a physical altercation with a third party. Law Enforcement responded and attempted to take Meyer into custody when he physically resisted officers. During the investigation, the stolen purse and its contents were located destroyed in a fire pit behind the residence. Meyer was transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where he was held pending arraignment at CAP Court. The Waterloo Police Department was assisted by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police.
The Waterloo Police Department reports, on May 12th, 2026, at about 7:08 PM they arrested Douglas K. Albro age 57, of Waterloo N.Y. The arrest stems from a complaint reporting that Albro was operating his motor vehicle while intoxicated. Officers conducted a traffic stop of Albro while operating his vehicle. Upon further investigation it is alleged that Albro was driving while intoxicated; it was discovered that Albro had a BAC of .21%. Albro was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated (BAC .18% or higher), and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He is to appear in Waterloo Town Court at a later date.
The Waterloo Police Department reports, on May 15, 2026 at about 10:09am, officers arrested Kristopher M. Torchia, age 34, of Utica, NY. Torchia was arrested on a bench warrant from Onedia County after an active warrant was discovered during an unrelated matter. Torchia was transferred to the custody of the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office. Waterloo Police Department was assisted by the New York State Police.
